Thanks for these posts! I’m very interested in getting involved in changing US policies to reflect the EU policies. Are there specific organizations doing a good job of pushing changes forward in regards to more robust testing (and limiting) of chemicals before they’re allowed for human consumption?
what is the reason the eu and fda have taken such different approaches? what is it about the eu system that seems to be more reasonable or less corrupt?
Great points all around. Unfortunately the FDA is poised to become even less powerful (or eliminated altogether) under a Trump administration, so we’re not moving in the right direction here
The FDA has been doing a terrible job to date imho. All of this has happened under the watch of the strongest FDA/EPA we've ever had - I'm not bullish on their ability to solve this problem.

None that I'm aware of. The Detox Project and EWG are two great orgs, but not sure of other initiatives going on.

Amazing research, Justin! I'm going to watch Dark Waters today -- and likely throw away all my Teflon pans :P
We are working on reducing heavy metals in crops using microbes that tackle the issue from the root! Would love to share more about it.
can you send me more info on this? super interested!
Yes! Will reach out directly over substack chat to get your email.
