always love the David protein bar rants, and totally agree. surprised that big names like Attia and Huberman have invested.

check out my friend John's company for hair loss - Adegen. this is a great video to watch to learn more. hair follicle health is super important! https://adegen.com/pages/presentation

David Bars… I was shocked to see the big names like Attia and Huberman get into bed with this cocktail of ingredients. Reminds me of the fast fail of Olestra😳😂

In tech, I'm sure you know there is a battle against the "Luddites"— those who resist innovation simply because it’s unfamiliar or disruptive, even when it’s likely to be beneficial. How can we apply that same mindset to food? How do we separate toxic Big Food ‘innovations’ (ex. EPG) from genuine, biology-aligned progress without throwing out the good with the bad?

I want my 100% grass-fed, finished steak just as much as I want a zero-calorie sweetener that doesn’t mess with my metabolism or gut microbiome!

I think the answer is testing! EPG has like 4 human studies, all short-term. If you tested them better I think that would go a very long way towards feeling good about some of these areas.

As an obese guy currently making great progress turning my health around, I wanted to chime in. I'm seeing a nutritionist who has me eating multiple small meals per day (around 5-6) aiming for 30g of protein each. Achieving this while also aiming for a calorie deficit, weight training 4x/week, an intense career, and raising young kids is tough but David protein bars have helped. So honestly, I'm not surprised they've been so successful.

Maybe I'm missing something but I don't understand exactly why David bars are "bad." While the EPG "candlewax" thing is kinda gross, is there an actual health issue? It appears to me like a clever hack of sorts. I've tried lots of other protein bars but only a few come close to David. Many have a "meh" calorie to protein ratio or are high in sugar.

Keep up the great posts, Justin! Cheers.
